Application for a Zoning Text Amendment, Conditional Use Permit, Lot Merger, and Design Review for a new, 2-story, private school building on a vacant 0.517-acre site to act as a relocation and expansion of the existing Valley of the Sacred Heart Academy school, currently located at St Peter's Catholic Church. The Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration under CEQA and project entitlements were reviewed by the Planning Commission on 3/10/26 and recommended for approval. The City Council reviewed the project on 04/21/26 and continued the item to a date uncertain with various comments and requests for additional information. The project returned to the City Council on 09/01/2026, at which time the item was continued yet again to a date uncertain, with a request for staff to analyze the feasibility of a land swap between the City and property owner. Following the September hearing, the applicant submitted a letter to withdraw the application.
